Calculation Formula

v = p / m

Where:
v = Velocity (m/s)
p = Momentum (kg·m/s)
m = Mass (kg)

Result

Velocity (v): -- m/s

Mass to Velocity Converter Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Mass to Velocity Converter calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the mass of the object in kilograms (kg) in the "Mass (kg)" field.
  2. Enter the momentum of the object in kilogram meters per second (kg·m/s) in the "Momentum (kg·m/s)" field.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the velocity.
  4. The result will be displayed in meters per second (m/s).
  5. If you need to start over, click the "Reset" button to clear all input fields.

Working Principle

This calculator uses the formula \( v = \frac{p}{m} \), where:

  • v is the velocity of the object in meters per second (m/s).
  • p is the momentum of the object in kilogram meters per second (kg·m/s).
  • m is the mass of the object in kilograms (kg).

Momentum is a measurement involving mass in motion, capturing velocity. This calculator assumes that the momentum is already known and helps you find the velocity by dividing the momentum by the mass.

Example

If an object with a mass of 10 kg has a momentum of 50 kg·m/s, the velocity can be calculated as follows:

Mass (m) = 10 kg

Momentum (p) = 50 kg·m/s

Velocity (v) = p / m = 50 / 10 = 5 m/s
