Calculation Formula

Energy Consumption (kWh) = (Flow Rate × Pressure × 0.10197) / (Efficiency × 3600)

Where:
Flow Rate: Volume of fluid passing through the terminal per hour (m³/h)
Pressure: Pressure applied to the fluid (Bar)
Efficiency: Efficiency of the terminal system as a percentage (%)

Terminal Energy Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Terminal Energy Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the flow rate of the fluid passing through the terminal in cubic meters per hour (m³/h).
  2. Enter the pressure applied to the fluid in Bar.
  3. Enter the efficiency of the terminal system as a percentage.
  4. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the energy consumption in kilowatt-hours (kWh).
  5. The result will be displayed in the energy consumption field.

Working Principle

The calculator uses the following formula to calculate the energy consumption:

Energy Consumption (kWh) = (Flow Rate × Pressure × 0.10197) / (Efficiency × 3600)

This formula takes into account the flow rate, pressure, and efficiency of the terminal system to determine the energy consumption in kilowatt-hours. The conversion factors used are:

  • 0.10197: Conversion factor from Bar to Pascal
  • 3600: Conversion factor from hours to seconds

Example

For example, if the flow rate is 100 m³/h, the pressure is 5 Bar, and the efficiency is 80%, the energy consumption would be calculated as follows:

Energy Consumption (kWh) = (100 × 5 × 0.10197) / (80 × 3600) ≈ 0.0141 kWh
