How to Use the Calculator
- Enter the Base Side Length (a) in centimeters. This is the length of one side of the square base.
- Enter the Height (h) in centimeters. This is the vertical distance from the base to the apex of the pyramid.
- Click the Calculate button to compute the volume, surface area, and slant height.
- Click the Reset button to clear all input fields and results.
Understanding the Results
- Volume (V): The space enclosed by the pyramid, calculated as one-third of the base area multiplied by the height.
- Surface Area (A): The total area covering the pyramid's surface, including the base and the four triangular faces.
- Slant Height (l): The height of each triangular face from its base to its apex, used to calculate the lateral surface area.
Principle of Calculations
The calculator uses standard geometric formulas:
Volume: V = (1/3) × a² × h
Surface Area: A = a² + 2 × a × l
Slant Height: l = √((a/2)² + h²)
Where 'a' is the base side length and 'h' is the height of the pyramid.
