Learn how to use the Planet Weight Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter your current weight on Earth in kilograms (kg).
  2. Select the planet you want to calculate your weight on from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to see your weight on the selected planet.
  4. Use the "Reset" button to clear all inputs and start over.

Understanding Planet Gravity

The surface gravity of a planet determines how heavy you would feel on that planet compared to Earth. For example, if you weigh 70 kg on Earth, you would weigh only 26.6 kg on Mercury (0.38g) but would be much heavier on Jupiter (184.8 kg) due to its stronger gravity (2.64g).

Planet Gravity Factors

Here's a summary of the gravity factors for each planet relative to Earth:
- Mercury: 0.38g
- Venus: 0.91g
- Moon: 0.165g
- Mars: 0.38g
- Jupiter: 2.64g
- Saturn: 1.15g
- Uranus: 0.92g
- Neptune: 1.19g

Important Notes

  • This calculator provides approximate values for educational purposes.
  • The Moon's gravity is about 1/6th of Earth's, which is why astronauts appear to be much more buoyant there.
  • Jupiter is the most massive planet in our solar system and has the strongest gravitational pull.
