Calculation Formula

Engine Capacity (cc) = π * (bore/2)² * stroke * cylinders

Where:
π = 3.141592653589793
bore = Bore diameter in mm
stroke = Stroke length in mm
cylinders = Number of cylinders

Engine Capacity Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Engine Capacity Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the bore diameter in millimeters (mm). This is the diameter of the cylinder bore.
  2. Enter the stroke length in millimeters (mm). This is the distance the piston travels within the cylinder.
  3. Enter the number of cylinders in the engine.
  4. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the engine capacity in cubic centimeters (cc).
  5. The result will be displayed in the "Engine Capacity (cc)" field.

Working Principle

The engine capacity (displacement) is calculated by multiplying the area of the cylinder bore (π * (bore/2)²) by the stroke length and the number of cylinders. The formula used is:

Engine Capacity (cc) = π * (bore/2)² * stroke * cylinders

This formula gives the total volume displaced by all the pistons in one complete engine cycle.
