Calculation Formula

Sprocket Ratio = Driving Sprocket Teeth / Driven Sprocket Teeth

Where:
Driving Sprocket Teeth: Number of teeth on the driving sprocket.
Driven Sprocket Teeth: Number of teeth on the driven sprocket.
Sprocket Ratio: The ratio of the driving sprocket to the driven sprocket.

Result

Sprocket Ratio: N/A

How to Use the Sprocket Ratio Calculator

The Sprocket Ratio Calculator is used to determine the ratio between the driving and driven sprockets in a chain drive system. Follow these steps to use the calculator:

  1. Enter the number of teeth on the driving sprocket in the "Driving Sprocket Teeth" field.
  2. Enter the number of teeth on the driven sprocket in the "Driven Sprocket Teeth" field.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the sprocket ratio.
  4. The result will be displayed in the "Sprocket Ratio" field.

Working Principle

The sprocket ratio is calculated by dividing the number of teeth on the driving sprocket by the number of teeth on the driven sprocket. This ratio determines how many times the driving sprocket rotates for each rotation of the driven sprocket.

Example

If the driving sprocket has 20 teeth and the driven sprocket has 40 teeth, the sprocket ratio would be:

20 / 40 = 0.5

This means the driving sprocket rotates twice for every rotation of the driven sprocket.
