Density Height Calculator

Density Height Calculator calculator can be used to determine the height of a fluid column given its density and pressure.

Input Parameters

Calculation Results

Calculation Formula

Height (h) = Pressure (P) / (Density (ρ) × g)

Where:
h = Height of the fluid column (m)
P = Pressure (Pa)
ρ = Density of the fluid (kg/m³)
g = Acceleration due to gravity (9.81 m/s²)

Density Height Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Density Height Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the pressure in Pascals (Pa) in the "Pressure (P)" field.
  2. Enter the density of the fluid in kilograms per cubic meter (kg/m³) in the "Density (ρ)" field.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the height of the fluid column.
  4. The result will be displayed in the "Height (h)" field in meters.

Working Principle

The calculator uses the formula \( \text{Height} = \frac{\text{Pressure}}{\text{Density} \times g} \) to determine the height of a fluid column. This formula is derived from the basic principle of hydrostatics, which states that the pressure exerted by a fluid at a certain depth is proportional to the height of the fluid column above that point.

For example, if you know the pressure exerted by a column of water and its density, you can use this calculator to find out the height of the water column.
