Pitching Velocity Calculator

This calculator can be used to determine the velocity of a pitching throw based on the distance and time it takes to throw a ball.

Input Parameters

Calculation Results

Calculation Formula

Velocity (mph) = (Distance (feet) / Time (seconds)) * 0.681818

Where:
Distance (feet) is the distance of the throw in feet.
Time (seconds) is the time it takes to throw the distance in seconds.
0.681818 is the conversion factor from feet per second to miles per hour.

Result

Velocity: -- mph

Pitching Velocity Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Pitching Velocity Calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the distance of the throw in feet in the "Distance" field.
  2. Enter the time it takes to throw the distance in seconds in the "Time" field.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the velocity.
  4. The result will be displayed in miles per hour (mph).

Working Principle

The calculator uses the formula: Velocity (mph) = (Distance (feet) / Time (seconds)) * 0.681818. This formula converts the speed from feet per second to miles per hour.

Example

If a pitcher throws a ball 60 feet in 0.75 seconds, the velocity would be calculated as follows:

Velocity = (60 feet / 0.75 seconds) * 0.681818 = 56.55 mph
