Calculation Formula

I = V / R

Where:
I = Current (Amperes)
V = Voltage (Volts)
R = Resistance (Ohms)

Result

Current (I) = 0.00 A

Learn how to use the Ampere Per Volt Calculator and understand its working principles

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the voltage in volts (V) in the first input field.
  2. Enter the resistance in ohms (Ω) in the second input field.

Working Principle

This calculator is based on Ohm's Law, which states that the current flowing through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points and inversely proportional to the resistance between them. The formula used is:

I = V / R

Where:

  • I is the current in amperes (A)
  • V is the voltage in volts (V)
  • R is the resistance in ohms (Ω)

Example

If you have a circuit with a voltage of 12 volts and a resistance of 100 ohms, the current would be:

I = 12 V / 100 Ω = 0.12 A

Applications

This calculator can be used for:

  • Designing electrical circuits
  • Calculating the current needed for specific applications
  • Verifying the specifications of electrical components
  • Education purposes to understand Ohm's Law
