Amplifier Voltage Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Amplifier Voltage Calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the input voltage (Vin) in volts. This is the voltage you are applying to the amplifier's input.
  2. Enter the amplifier gain (A) in decibels (dB). This represents how much the amplifier boosts the signal.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the output voltage (Vout).
  4. The results will be displayed showing the input voltage, gain, and calculated output voltage.

Working Principle

The output voltage of an amplifier is calculated using the formula:

Vout = Vin × 10^(Gain/20)

This formula converts the gain from decibels to a linear multiplier and applies it to the input voltage to find the output voltage.

Example

For example, if you have an input voltage of 1.0V and an amplifier gain of 20dB:

Vout = 1.0 × 10^(20/20) = 1.0 × 10^1 = 10.0V
