Learn how to use the BPM Calories Burned Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter your body weight in kilograms.
  2. Enter the duration of the activity in minutes.
  3. Enter the average BPM (beats per minute) during the activity.
  4. Enter the MET value of the activity (a value that represents the energy cost of physical activities).
  5. Click the "Calculate" button to estimate the calories burned.
  6. Click the "Reset" button to clear all inputs and start over.

Understanding MET Value

The MET value is a way to estimate the energy cost of physical activities. A MET of 1.0 is equivalent to resting. For example, walking at a moderate pace has a MET value of about 3.0-4.0, meaning it burns 3.0-4.0 times the energy of resting.

Example

If you weigh 70 kg, walk for 30 minutes at a pace that averages 120 BPM, and the MET value for walking is 3.5, the estimated calories burned would be:

Calories Burned = (3.5 × 70 kg × 0.5 hours) / 3.5 = 35 calories
