OSB Weight Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the OSB Weight Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the Length of the OSB panel in millimeters (mm).
  2. Enter the Width of the OSB panel in millimeters (mm).
  3. Enter the Thickness of the OSB panel in millimeters (mm).
  4. The Density of the OSB panel is pre-filled with a default value of 600 kg/m³. You can change it if needed.
  5. Click the Calculate button to compute the weight of the OSB panel.
  6. The calculated weight will be displayed in kilograms (kg).

Working Principle

The calculator uses the following formula to calculate the weight of the OSB panel:

Weight (kg) = (Length × Width × Thickness) × Density / 1000000

This formula calculates the volume of the OSB panel in cubic meters (m³) by multiplying the length, width, and thickness in millimeters (mm) and then converting the volume from cubic millimeters to cubic meters. The weight is then calculated by multiplying the volume by the density of the OSB panel.

Example

For an OSB panel with a length of 2440 mm, a width of 1220 mm, and a thickness of 18 mm, the weight would be calculated as follows:

Weight = (2440 × 1220 × 18) × 600 / 1000000 = 33.05 kg
