Plywood Weight Calculator

Calculate the weight of plywood based on its dimensions and thickness.

Input Parameters

Default value for standard plywood is 600 kg/m³

Calculation Results

Calculation Formula

Weight (kg) = Length (m) × Width (m) × Thickness (m) × Density (kg/m³)

Where:
Length: The length of the plywood sheet in meters
Width: The width of the plywood sheet in meters
Thickness: The thickness of the plywood sheet in meters
Density: The density of the plywood material in kg/m³

Plywood Weight Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Plywood Weight Calculator and understand its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the Length of your plywood sheet in meters.
  2. Enter the Width of your plywood sheet in meters.
  3. Enter the Thickness of your plywood sheet in millimeters (mm).
  4. You can optionally change the Density if you're calculating for a non-standard plywood type. The default value is 600 kg/m³, which is typical for standard plywood.
  5. Click the Calculate button to compute the weight.
  6. The result will be displayed in kilograms (kg).

Understanding Plywood Density

Plywood density can vary depending on the type of wood used and the construction method. Standard plywood typically has a density around 600 kg/m³, but this can range from:

  • Lightweight plywood (e.g., for furniture): 400-500 kg/m³
  • Standard plywood (e.g., for construction): 500-700 kg/m³
  • Marine-grade plywood: 700-800 kg/m³
  • Exterior-grade plywood: 600-750 kg/m³

Example Calculation

For a standard 2.4m × 1.2m plywood sheet with a thickness of 18mm:

  1. Length = 2.4 m
  2. Width = 1.2 m
  3. Thickness = 18 mm = 0.018 m
  4. Density = 600 kg/m³ (default)
  5. Weight = 2.4 × 1.2 × 0.018 × 600 = 32.64 kg

This calculator helps you estimate the weight of plywood sheets for transportation planning, loading, and handling purposes.
