Calculate the total price of lumber based on length, width, thickness, and price per board foot.
Learn how to use the Lumber Price Calculator calculator and its working principles
Board feet is a unit of measurement for lumber. One board foot is equal to 1 foot long, 1 inch wide, and 1 inch thick. To calculate the total price, you multiply the number of board feet by the price per board foot.
If you have a piece of lumber that is 10 feet long, 6 inches wide, and 2 inches thick, and the price per board foot is $5, the total price would be:
10 feet * 6 inches * 2 inches / 144 = 0.833 board feet
0.833 board feet * $5/board foot = $4.17
