How to Use the Calculator

1. Enter the speed of your mower in miles per hour (mph) in the "Mower Speed" field.
2. Enter the width of the cutting path of your mower in feet in the "Cutting Width" field.
3. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the acres per hour.
4. The result will be displayed in the "Acres Per Hour" field.

Working Principle

The calculator uses the following formula to determine the acres per hour:

Acres per Hour = (Mower Speed (mph) × Cutting Width (feet) × 17.6) / 5280

This formula converts the area covered per hour (in square feet) to acres by considering the speed of the mower and the width of the cutting path.

Example

If your mower moves at 4 mph and has a cutting width of 42 inches (which is 3.5 feet), the calculation would be:

Acres per Hour = (4 × 3.5 × 17.6) / 5280 = 0.23 acres per hour

Practical Tips

• Ensure your mower speed is measured in a straight line and not accounting for turns or uneven terrain.
• The cutting width should be measured in feet. If your mower's width is given in inches, convert it to feet by dividing by 12.
• This calculator provides an estimate and actual mowing speed may vary based on terrain, grass height, and other factors.
