R = Resistance (Ohm)

Ampere Per Volt Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Ampere Per Volt Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the voltage in volts (V) in the first input field.
  2. Enter the resistance in ohms (Ω) in the second input field.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the current.
  4. The current in amperes (A) will be displayed in the result field.
  5. Click the "Reset" button to clear all input and result fields.

Working Principle

This calculator uses Ohm's Law, which states that the current flowing through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points and inversely proportional to the resistance between them. The formula is:

I = V / R

Where:

  • I = Current (in amperes, A)
  • V = Voltage (in volts, V)
  • R = Resistance (in ohms, Ω)

Example

If you have a circuit with a voltage of 12 volts and a resistance of 6 ohms, the current flowing through the circuit would be:

I = 12 V / 6 Ω = 2 A
