Calculation Formula

Volume = Length × Width × Height

Where:
Volume = Total volume of air in cubic meters
Length = Length of the tank in meters
Width = Width of the tank in meters
Height = Height of the tank in meters

Air Volume Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Air Volume Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the length of your rectangular tank in meters in the "Length" field.
  2. Enter the width of your rectangular tank in meters in the "Width" field.
  3. Enter the height of your rectangular tank in meters in the "Height" field.
  4. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the volume.
  5. The result will be displayed in cubic meters in the "Volume" field.

Working Principle

The calculator uses the formula for calculating the volume of a rectangular prism:

Volume = Length × Width × Height

This formula works because the volume of a rectangular tank is simply the product of its three dimensions. Each unit of measurement must be in meters to get the result in cubic meters.

Example

If you have a tank that is 2 meters long, 1.5 meters wide, and 1 meter high:

  • Length = 2 m
  • Width = 1.5 m
  • Height = 1 m
  • Volume = 2 m × 1.5 m × 1 m = 3 cubic meters

Applications

This calculator can be used in various scenarios:

  • Calculating the volume of air in storage tanks
  • Estimating the capacity of aquariums
  • Planning HVAC systems for buildings
  • Calculating the volume of water in swimming pools (if you know the depth)
