How to Use This Calculator
- Enter your weight in kilograms (kg). If you're not sure, use an average of 70kg.
- Input the duration of your assault bike workout in minutes.
- Select your intensity level:
- Light: Gentle pedaling at 1-3 mph (1.6-4.8 km/h)
- Medium: Moderate effort at 3-5 mph (4.8-8 km/h)
- Hard: High intensity at 5+ mph (8 km/h)
- Click the "Calculate" button to determine your calorie expenditure.
- The results will show the estimated calories burned based on MET values.
Understanding the Calculation
This calculator uses MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values to estimate calorie expenditure. MET is a way to measure the energy cost of physical activities. The formula used is:
Calories = (MET × Weight (kg) × Duration (hours)) × 3.5
For example, cycling at a medium intensity (5 MET) for 30 minutes by a 70kg person would burn approximately:
Calories = (5 × 70 × 0.5) × 3.5 = 1225 kcal
Important Notes
- This is an estimate based on average values. Actual calorie burn may vary based on individual factors.
- The calculator assumes steady effort throughout the workout duration.
- For more accurate results, consider using a heart rate monitor or fitness tracker.
