How to use the calculator
- Enter your weight in kilograms (kg)
- Specify how long you'll be using the infinity hoop (in minutes)
- Choose your activity intensity level:
- Light: Slow to moderate movement, minimal resistance
- Medium: Consistent moderate movement, moderate resistance
- High: Intense, vigorous movement, maximum resistance
- Click the "Calculate" button to see your estimated calorie burn

Understanding MET values
The calculator uses MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values to estimate calorie expenditure. MET is a unit that estimates the energy cost of physical activity for a person of average size (70kg or 154 lbs). One MET is equivalent to energy expenditure at rest.
For example:
- Sitting quietly: 1 MET
- Walking at a slow pace (3 mph): 3-4 METs
- Moderate hiking: 5-6 METs
- Heavy lifting: 8-10 METs
Important notes
- This calculator provides an estimate based on average values. Actual calorie burn may vary based on individual factors such as fitness level, age, and actual movement pattern.
- The MET values used for infinity hooping are based on studies of similar activities like hula hooping and resistance exercises.
- The intensity levels should be adjusted based on how you're actually using the hoop - gentle swinging or active manipulation of the hoop.
- For the most accurate calorie tracking, consider using a heart rate monitor or fitness tracker that can measure your actual energy expenditure.
