How to Use the Calculator
- Enter your age in years in the "Age (years)" field.
- Select your desired intensity level from the "Intensity Level (%)" dropdown menu.
- Click the "Calculate" button to compute your target heart rate.
- Your target heart rate will be displayed in the "Target Heart Rate (bpm)" field.
Understanding the Formula
The calculator uses the following formula to determine your target heart rate:
Target Heart Rate (THR) = Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) * Intensity Level
Where:
- Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) = 220 - Age
- Intensity Level = Desired workout intensity as a percentage
Intensity Levels
- 50% (Light Intensity): Suitable for beginners or recovery workouts.
- 70% (Moderate Intensity): Suitable for general fitness and weight management.
- 85% (Hard Intensity): Suitable for advanced workouts and cardiovascular training.
