Calculation Formula

Calories = (Weight × Reps × Sets × 0.0175) × Time Factor

Where:
Weight = Kettlebell weight in kg
Reps = Number of repetitions
Sets = Number of sets
Time Factor = 0.0175 (approximate MET value for kettlebell exercises)
Time = Workout time in minutes

Kettlebell Calorie Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Kettlebell Calorie Calculator and understand its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the weight of your kettlebell in kilograms (kg).
  2. Input the number of repetitions you perform for each set.
  3. Specify the number of sets you complete during your workout.
  4. Enter the total time in minutes that you spent doing the kettlebell workout.
  5. Click the "Calculate" button to determine the calories burned.

Understanding the Formula

The calculator uses the following formula to estimate calories burned:
Calories = (Weight × Reps × Sets × 0.0175) × Time

The time factor of 0.0175 is an approximation based on the MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) value for kettlebell exercises. MET values represent the energy cost of physical activities. A MET of 1.0 is equivalent to 1 kilocalorie per kilogram of body weight per hour.

Example Calculation

If you perform 20 repetitions of a kettlebell swing (10 kg) for 3 sets, spending 15 minutes in total, the calories burned would be:
Calories = (10 kg × 60 reps × 0.0175) × 15 minutes = 157.5 kcal

Important Notes

  • This calculator provides an estimate based on average values. Actual calorie burn may vary based on individual factors such as age, gender, fitness level, and intensity of the workout.
  • The more intense the workout, the more calories you will burn. This calculator assumes moderate intensity.
  • For more accurate results, consider using a heart rate monitor or fitness tracker that can measure your actual energy expenditure.
