Milk Powder Weight Calculator

Calculate the weight of milk powder needed based on milk volume and fat percentage

Input Parameters

Calculation Results

Calculation Formula

Weight of Milk Powder = Milk Volume × (1 - (Desired Fat Percentage / 100)) ÷ (1 - (Fat Percentage / 100))

Where:
Milk Volume = Volume of milk in liters
Fat Percentage = Current fat percentage of milk
Desired Fat Percentage = Target fat percentage for milk powder

Milk Powder Weight Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Milk Powder Weight Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the volume of milk you have in liters (e.g., 10 liters).
  2. Enter the current fat percentage of your milk (e.g., 3.5% for whole milk).
  3. Enter the desired fat percentage for your milk powder (e.g., 25% for concentrated milk powder).
  4. Click the "Calculate" button to determine the amount of milk powder needed.

Working Principle

The calculator uses the following formula to determine the weight of milk powder needed:

Weight of Milk Powder = Milk Volume × (1 - (Desired Fat Percentage / 100)) ÷ (1 - (Fat Percentage / 100))

This formula accounts for the reduction in weight when removing fat from the milk to create milk powder. The calculation assumes that the fat is removed while preserving the non-fat portion of the milk.

Example

Suppose you have 10 liters of milk with 3.5% fat and you want to make milk powder with 25% fat. The calculator would determine that you need approximately 21.74 kg of milk powder.

Applications

This calculator is useful for dairy farmers, milk producers, and anyone involved in dairy processing who needs to determine the amount of milk powder to produce based on different fat content requirements.
