How to Use the Calculator

Working Principle

The area of a sector of a circle is a fraction of the circle's total area. This fraction is determined by the ratio of the central angle of the sector to the full angle of a circle (360 degrees).

The formula for calculating the area of a sector is:

Area = (θ/360) × π × r²

Where:

• θ (theta) is the central angle in degrees
• r is the radius of the circle
• π (pi) is approximately 3.14159

Example

If you have a circle with a radius of 5 units and you want to calculate the area of a sector with a central angle of 90 degrees:

1. Enter 5 in the radius field
2. Enter 90 in the angle field
3. Click "Calculate"
4. The result will be 19.6350 square units (approximately)
