Understanding the Formula
The calculator uses the following formula to determine pump power:
P = (ρ × g × Q × H) / (η × 75)
Where:
- P = Power required (Watt)
- ρ = Fluid density (kg/m³)
- g = Acceleration due to gravity (9.81 m/s²)
- Q = Flow rate (m³/s)
- H = Total head (m)
- η = Pump efficiency (decimal)
