Sod Coverage Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Sod Coverage Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Sod Coverage Calculator

  1. Enter the length and width of the area you want to cover in feet.
  2. Enter the sod coverage per pallet (sq. feet). This is the amount of sod that one pallet can cover.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to determine the total area and the number of pallets needed.

Working Principle

The calculator works by first calculating the total area to be covered by multiplying the length and width. It then divides this total area by the sod coverage per pallet to determine the number of pallets needed. Since you can't purchase a fraction of a pallet, the calculator rounds up to the nearest whole number using the Math.ceil function.

Example

If you have an area that is 50 feet long and 30 feet wide, and each pallet covers 250 sq. feet, the calculator will determine that you need 2 pallets to cover the entire area.
