How to Use the Calculator
- Enter the total number of applicants for the group and non-group.
- Enter the number of applicants from the group and non-group who were selected.
- Click the "Calculate" button to compute the selection rates and disparate impact ratio.
- The calculator will display the selection rates for both groups and the disparate impact ratio.
- If the disparate impact ratio is 0.80 or higher, it indicates a disparate impact may exist.
Understanding the Results
The calculator provides the following outputs:
- Group Selection Rate (%): The percentage of group applicants who were selected.
- Non-Group Selection Rate (%): The percentage of non-group applicants who were selected.
- Disparate Impact Ratio: The ratio of the group selection rate to the non-group selection rate.
- Disparate Impact Conclusion: Indicates whether a disparate impact may exist based on the ratio.
This calculator is intended for use in evaluating selection processes for employment, housing, or other areas where disparate impact analysis is required.
