How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the total number of applicants for the group and non-group.
  2. Enter the number of applicants from the group and non-group who were selected.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the selection rates and disparate impact ratio.
  4. The calculator will display the selection rates for both groups and the disparate impact ratio.
  5. If the disparate impact ratio is 0.80 or higher, it indicates a disparate impact may exist.

Understanding the Results

The calculator provides the following outputs:

  • Group Selection Rate (%): The percentage of group applicants who were selected.
  • Non-Group Selection Rate (%): The percentage of non-group applicants who were selected.
  • Disparate Impact Ratio: The ratio of the group selection rate to the non-group selection rate.
