2. Select your destination: Domestic (within your country) or International (outside your country).
3. Choose the package type: Letter, Package, or Flat.

5. The calculator will show the estimated cost based on standard postal rates.

Understanding the Calculation

The calculator uses a simple formula to estimate stamp costs:

Cost = Base Rate × Weight Factor × Destination Multiplier

Where:

• Base Rate: Varies by package type (Letters are cheaper than Packages)
• Weight Factor: $0.50 per kg of package weight
• Destination Multiplier: 1.0 for domestic shipments, 1.5 for international shipments

Example

Suppose you have a package weighing 1.8 kg going to a domestic destination, and you select it as a Package type:

Cost = $3.00 (Base Rate for Package) + ($0.50 × 1.8 kg) (Weight Factor) × 1.0 (Domestic Multiplier)

Cost = $3.00 + $0.90 × 1.0 = $3.90
