Learn how to use the Defect Rate Calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the total number of items inspected in the "Total Number of Items Inspected" field.
  2. Enter the number of defects in the "Number of Defects" field.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to calculate the defect rate.
  4. The defect rate will be displayed in the "Defect Rate (%)" field.

Working Principle

The defect rate is calculated by dividing the number of defects by the total number of items inspected and then multiplying by 100 to get a percentage. This gives a clear indication of the quality of the inspected items.

Example

If you inspect 1000 items and find 50 defects, the defect rate would be calculated as follows:

Defect Rate = (50 / 1000) * 100% = 5%
