Understanding the Calculation

The rejection percentage is calculated using the following formula:

Rejection Percentage = (Rejected Items / Total Items) × 100

This formula gives you a percentage that represents how many items out of the total were rejected.

Example

Suppose you processed 100 items and 15 of them were rejected:

• Total Items Processed = 100
• Rejected Items = 15
• Rejection Percentage = (15 / 100) × 100 = 15%

In this example, the rejection percentage would be 15%, indicating that 15% of the processed items were rejected.

Important Notes

• The number of rejected items must be less than or equal to the total number of items processed.
• If you enter invalid values (negative numbers, non-numeric values, or rejected items greater than total items), the calculator will display an error message.
• This calculator is particularly useful in quality control processes to monitor and improve product quality over time.
