Cross Stitch Size Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Cross Stitch Size Calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the number of stitches in width and height of your cross stitch project.
  2. Enter the size of each stitch in millimeters. A standard cross stitch is typically 0.5 cm or 5 mm.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to determine the finished size of your project.
  4. The calculator will display the finished width, height, and area of your project in square millimeters.

Example

If you have a cross stitch pattern that is 10 stitches wide and 8 stitches high, and each stitch is 5 mm, the finished size of your project will be:

  • Width: 10 stitches × 5 mm = 50 mm
  • Height: 8 stitches × 5 mm = 40 mm
  • Area: 50 mm × 40 mm = 2000 sq mm

Working Principle

The calculator uses the formula: Finished Size = Number of Stitches × Stitch Size. This formula assumes that each stitch is uniform in size and that there is no additional space between stitches.
