Calculation Formula

Leg Length (cm) = 0.5 * Hip Circumference + 0.5 * Knee Circumference + (Height / 2) - 60

Where:
- Hip Circumference: Circumference measured around the hip
- Knee Circumference: Circumference measured around the knee
- Height: Total height of the individual in centimeters

Leg Length Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Leg Length Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Leg Length Calculator

  1. Enter your height in centimeters.
  2. Measure your hip circumference in centimeters using a tape measure, positioned around the widest part of your hips.
  3. Measure your knee circumference in centimeters, positioned around the widest part of your knee.
  4. Click the "Calculate" button to estimate your left and right leg lengths.
  5. The calculator will also display the difference between your left and right leg lengths.

Working Principle

This calculator uses an empirical formula that relates hip and knee circumferences to leg length. The formula is based on anthropometric measurements and provides a reasonable estimate of leg length:

Leg Length (cm) = 0.5 * Hip Circumference + 0.5 * Knee Circumference + (Height / 2) - 60

This formula was developed by combining multiple anthropometric measurements to provide a practical estimation of leg length. The subtraction of 60 cm is a constant adjustment factor based on average human anatomy.

Important Notes

  • The accuracy of the calculation depends on the accuracy of the input measurements.
  • This calculator provides an estimate and should not be used for medical diagnosis or treatment decisions.
  • If you have any concerns about your leg lengths or related health issues, consult a healthcare professional.
