Understanding the Results

The calculator provides two key measurements:

  • Mass Accuracy (%): This indicates how accurate the measured mass is compared to the theoretical mass, expressed as a percentage. A lower percentage means higher accuracy.
  • Absolute Error (g): This shows the absolute difference between the measured mass and the theoretical mass, measured in grams.

Example

Suppose you measured a sample to be 10.5 grams, but the theoretical mass should have been 10.0 grams:

- Measured Mass = 10.5 g

- Theoretical Mass = 10.0 g

- Absolute Error = |10.5 - 10.0| = 0.5 g

- Mass Accuracy = (0.5 / 10.0) × 100% = 5.0%
