Mean Arterial Pressure Calculator calculator can be used to calculate the Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) based on systolic and diastolic blood pressure values.
Learn how to use the Mean Arterial Pressure Calculator calculator and its working principles
Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) is an average blood pressure during one cardiac cycle. It is a better measure of organ perfusion than either systolic or diastolic pressure alone. The formula to calculate MAP is:
MAP = (Systolic BP + 2 * Diastolic BP) / 3
This formula weights the diastolic pressure twice as much as the systolic pressure because the blood pressure is closer to diastolic pressure during most of the cardiac cycle.
