Calculation Formula

Volume = Area × Thickness × (1/100)

Where:
Volume = Required aggregate volume in cubic meters
Area = Area to be covered in square meters
Thickness = Thickness of aggregate layer in centimeters

Aggregate Coverage Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Aggregate Coverage Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the area you want to cover in square meters.
  2. Enter the desired thickness of the aggregate layer in centimeters.
  3. The aggregate density is pre-filled (typically 2500 kg/m³ for common aggregates), but you can adjust it if needed.
  4. Click the "Calculate" button to get the required volume and mass of aggregate.
  5. The calculator will display the volume in cubic meters and the mass in kilograms.

Principle of Calculation

The calculator works based on the formula:

Volume = Area × Thickness × (1/100)

This formula converts the area and thickness into a volume (in cubic meters), considering that 1 cm is equal to 0.01 meters. The mass is then calculated by multiplying the volume by the density of the aggregate.

Example

If you need to cover an area of 50 square meters with a 5 cm thick aggregate layer, the calculation would be:

  • Volume = 50 m² × 0.05 m = 2.5 m³
  • Mass = 2.5 m³ × 2500 kg/m³ = 6250 kg

So, you would need 2.5 cubic meters (or 6250 kg) of aggregate for this area.
