How to Use the Calculator

1. Select the shape of your farm from the dropdown menu (Rectangle or Square).
2. Enter the length of the farm in meters. For a rectangle, this is the longer side. For a square, this is the side length.
3. Enter the width of the farm in meters. For a rectangle, this is the shorter side. For a square, this is the same as the length.
4. Select the desired area unit (Square Meters or Acres).
5. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the area.
6. The result will be displayed in the designated field.

Understanding the Formula

The area of a farm is calculated by multiplying the length by the width. For a square, since all sides are equal, the area is the length multiplied by itself (length × length).

The calculator also provides the option to display the area in acres, which is useful for comparing farm sizes with other land measurements.

Example

If you have a rectangular farm that is 100 meters long and 50 meters wide, the area would be:

Area = 100 meters × 50 meters = 5000 square meters

If you want to convert this to acres:

Area = 5000 square meters ÷ 4046.86 = 1.23 Acres
