Working Principle

The Torr is a unit of pressure based on an absolute scale, defined as 1/760 of standard atmospheric pressure. The conversion between Pascals and Torr uses the following formula:

Pressure (Torr) = Pressure (Pa) / 133.322

This conversion factor (133.322) comes from the fact that 1 atmosphere equals 101325 Pascals, and 1 atmosphere equals 760 Torr.

Example

If you have a pressure of 101325 Pascals, the equivalent pressure in Torr would be:

101325 Pa / 133.322 = 760 Torr

This matches the standard atmospheric pressure definition in both units.
