How to Use the Calculator
- Enter the number of books sold in the "Number of Books Sold" field.
- Enter the price per book in the "Price per Book" field.
- Enter the discount percentage (if any) in the "Discount Percentage" field.
- Click the "Calculate" button to compute the total sales.
- Review the subtotal, discount amount, and final total sales.
Working Principle
The calculator works by first calculating the subtotal (number of books sold × price per book), then applying the discount percentage to determine the discount amount, and finally subtracting the discount amount from the subtotal to arrive at the total sales amount.
Example
For example, if you sold 100 books at $20 each with a 10% discount:
- Subtotal: 100 × $20 = $2,000
- Discount Amount: $2,000 × 10% = $200
- Total Sales: $2,000 - $200 = $1,800
Important Notes
- The discount percentage should be entered as a whole number (e.g., 10 for 10%).
- If no discount is applicable, leave the discount percentage field at 0.
- The calculator provides a clear breakdown of the subtotal, discount amount, and final total for easy financial tracking.
