Absolute Pressure Calculator

Absolute Pressure Calculator calculator can be used to calculate the absolute pressure by adding gauge pressure to atmospheric pressure.

Calculation Formula

Absolute Pressure (PSI) = Gauge Pressure (PSI) + Atmospheric Pressure (PSI)

Where:
Gauge Pressure (PSI): The pressure measured relative to atmospheric pressure.
Atmospheric Pressure (PSI): The standard atmospheric pressure at sea level, typically 14.7 PSI.
Absolute Pressure (PSI): The total pressure exerted by the environment, including atmospheric pressure.

Absolute Pressure Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Absolute Pressure Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Absolute Pressure Calculator

  1. Enter the gauge pressure in PSI in the "Gauge Pressure" field.
  2. The atmospheric pressure is already set to the standard value of 14.7 PSI, but you can change it if needed.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the absolute pressure.
  4. The result will be displayed in the "Absolute Pressure" field.

Working Principle

The absolute pressure is the total pressure exerted by the environment, including atmospheric pressure. It is calculated by adding the gauge pressure to the atmospheric pressure.

For example, if the gauge pressure is 30 PSI, the absolute pressure would be:

Absolute Pressure = 30 PSI + 14.7 PSI = 44.7 PSI
