Alcohol Volume Calculator

Calculate the volume of alcohol in a beverage based on its ABV (Alcohol By Volume) and total volume.

Input Parameters

Calculation Results

Calculation Formula

Alcohol Volume (ml) = Total Volume (ml) × ABV (%) ÷ 100

Where:
- Alcohol Volume (ml): The volume of pure alcohol in the beverage
- Total Volume (ml): The total volume of the beverage
- ABV (%): Alcohol By Volume percentage

Alcohol Volume Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Alcohol Volume Calculator to determine the amount of pure alcohol in your beverages.

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the total volume of your beverage in milliliters (ml). For example, if you have a 500ml bottle of wine, enter 500.
  2. Enter the Alcohol By Volume (ABV) percentage. This information is usually found on the label of the beverage container. For example, most craft beers have an ABV between 5-10%, while wine typically ranges from 12-15%.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the volume of pure alcohol in the beverage.
  4. The results will be displayed in both milliliters (ml) and liters (L).

Understanding ABV

Alcohol By Volume (ABV) is a measure of how much alcohol (ethanol) is contained in a beverage. It is expressed as a percentage of the total volume of the liquid. For example, a beverage with 12% ABV contains 12 milliliters of alcohol for every 100 milliliters of beverage.

Practical Applications

  • Tracking your alcohol consumption
  • Understanding the strength of different beverages
  • Calculating the alcohol content in mixed drinks
  • Comparing different types of alcoholic beverages

Example Calculation

Let's say you have a 750ml bottle of red wine with an ABV of 14%.

Calculation:
Alcohol Volume = 750 ml × 14% ÷ 100 = 105 ml of pure alcohol

This means that in your 750ml bottle of wine, there are 105ml of pure alcohol.
