Example

If a chip had 1000 million transistors in 2023, and you want to project to 2028 (5 years later):

  • Initial Count: 1000 million
  • Input Year: 2023
  • Future Years: 5
  • Result: 1000 × 2^((5×12)/1.5) = 1000 × 2^40 ≈ 1,099,511,627,776 million transistors (or ~1.1 trillion)
