Tesla power consumption calculator

Calculate the power consumption of a Tesla based on driving parameters

Input Parameters

Calculation Results

Calculation Formula

Energy Consumption = (Distance × Efficiency Factor) / Battery Capacity

Where:
Distance - Driving distance in miles
Efficiency Factor - (100 - Efficiency Percentage) / 100
Battery Capacity - Battery capacity in kWh

Energy Consumption (kWh)

Power Consumption (kW)

Estimated Range (miles)

Tesla power consumption calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Tesla power consumption calculator and its working principles

How to use the calculator

  1. Enter the driving distance in miles
  2. Input your average driving speed in mph
  3. Specify the battery capacity of your Tesla in kWh (default is 100 kWh for Model 3 Long Range)
  4. Set the efficiency percentage (default is 85%, which represents 15% energy loss)
  5. Click the "Calculate" button to get the results

Understanding the results

  • Energy Consumption (kWh): The amount of energy used to travel the specified distance
  • Power Consumption (kW): The average power consumption during the trip
  • Estimated Range: The maximum range based on the current battery capacity and efficiency

Principle of calculation

The calculator uses the following formulas:

Energy Consumption = (Distance × Efficiency Factor) / Battery Capacity

Power Consumption = Energy Consumption × Average Speed

Estimated Range = Battery Capacity / Efficiency Factor

Notes

This calculator provides approximate values and actual consumption may vary based on driving conditions, terrain, weather, and vehicle load.
