Calculation Formula

Range = (Battery Capacity / Energy Consumption) * 100

Where:
Battery Capacity: Total energy stored in the battery (kWh)
Energy Consumption: Energy used per 100 kilometers (kWh/100 km)
Range: Estimated distance the vehicle can travel on a full charge (km)

Electric Vehicle Range Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Electric Vehicle Range Calculator calculator and its working principles

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter the battery capacity of your electric vehicle in kilowatt-hours (kWh). This is the total amount of energy stored in the battery.
  2. Enter the energy consumption of your electric vehicle in kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers (kWh/100 km). This is the amount of energy the vehicle uses to travel 100 kilometers.
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to estimate the range of your electric vehicle based on the provided inputs.
  4. The estimated range in kilometers will be displayed in the "Estimated Range (km)" field.

Understanding the Formula

The calculator uses the following formula to estimate the range of an electric vehicle:

Range = (Battery Capacity / Energy Consumption) * 100

This formula calculates the distance the vehicle can travel on a full charge by dividing the total battery capacity by the energy consumption rate and then multiplying by 100 to get the range in kilometers.

Example

For example, if your electric vehicle has a battery capacity of 60 kWh and an energy consumption of 15 kWh/100 km, the estimated range would be:

Range = (60 kWh / 15 kWh/100 km) * 100 = 400 km

This means your electric vehicle could potentially travel up to 400 kilometers on a full charge.
