Calculation Formula

Distance = Fuel Capacity × Fuel Efficiency

Where:
Distance = Maximum distance the vehicle can travel
Fuel Capacity = Total fuel in the tank
Fuel Efficiency = Kilometers the vehicle can travel per liter of fuel

Fuel distance calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the Fuel distance calculator calculator and its working principles

How to use the calculator

  1. Enter the total fuel capacity of your vehicle in liters (e.g., 50 for a 50-liter tank)
  2. Enter the fuel efficiency of your vehicle in kilometers per liter (e.g., 12 for 12 km/liter)
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to determine the maximum distance your vehicle can travel
  4. Click "Reset" to clear all inputs and start over

Understanding the calculation

The calculator uses a simple formula to determine maximum driving distance:
Distance (km) = Fuel Capacity (liters) × Fuel Efficiency (km/liter)

Example

If your car has a 55-liter fuel tank and an efficiency of 10 km/liter, the maximum distance you can travel would be:
55 liters × 10 km/liter = 550 kilometers

Important notes

  • This calculation assumes your vehicle maintains a constant fuel efficiency
  • Actual driving distance may be lower due to factors like traffic, driving style, and road conditions
  • The calculator does not account for fuel consumption during acceleration or when climbing hills
  • For more accurate planning, check your vehicle's fuel consumption under actual driving conditions
