Working Principle

The calculator calculates the total cost of railway transportation by considering the following factors:

  • Insurance Cost: A fixed cost for insuring the transportation.

Example

If you need to transport goods over a distance of 500 km, with a weight of 1000 kg, and the costs are as follows:

  • Fuel cost per km: €0.50
  • Maintenance cost per km: €0.30
  • Insurance cost: €100

The total cost would be calculated as:

(500 km × €0.50/km) + (500 km × €0.30/km) + €100 = €250 + €150 + €100 = €500
