How to Use the Calculator

1. Enter the distance of transportation in kilometers.
2. Enter the weight of the goods in kilograms.
3. Enter the fuel cost per kilometer in euros.
4. Enter the maintenance cost per kilometer in euros.
5. Enter the fixed insurance cost in euros.
6. Click the "Calculate" button to get the total transportation cost.
7. Use the "Reset" button to clear all input fields and start over.

Working Principle

The calculator calculates the total cost of railway transportation by considering the following factors:

• Fuel Cost: The cost of fuel for the entire distance.
• Maintenance Cost: The cost of maintaining the transportation equipment for the entire distance.
• Insurance Cost: A fixed cost for insuring the transportation.

Example

If you need to transport goods over a distance of 500 km, with a weight of 1000 kg, and the costs are as follows:

• Fuel cost per km: €0.50
• Maintenance cost per km: €0.30
• Insurance cost: €100

The total cost would be calculated as:

(500 km × €0.50/km) + (500 km × €0.30/km) + €100 = €250 + €150 + €100 = €500
