How to use the calculator

Understanding the formula

The calculator uses the following formula to calculate the total toll cost:

Total Toll Cost = Distance × Toll Rate × Vehicle Multiplier

The vehicle multiplier adjusts the cost based on the type of vehicle:

  • Car: 1.0x (Base rate)
  • Truck: 1.5x (Higher rate for larger vehicles)
  • Motorcycle: 0.8x (Lower rate for smaller vehicles)

Example

If you are traveling 10 miles at a toll rate of $0.50 per mile in a car, the calculation would be:

10 miles × $0.50/mile × 1.0 = $5.00
