PTFE Rod Weight Calculator

Calculate the weight of a PTFE rod based on its dimensions and material properties

Input Parameters

Default PTFE density is 2150 kg/m³

Calculation Results

Calculation Formula

Weight = π × (d²/4) × L × ρ

Where:
π = 3.14159265359 (Pi)
d = Diameter of the rod (meters)
L = Length of the rod (meters)
ρ = Density of PTFE (kg/m³)

PTFE Rod Weight Calculator Calculator Usage Guide

Learn how to use the PTFE Rod Weight Calculator and its working principles

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the length of the PTFE rod in meters.
  2. Enter the diameter of the PTFE rod in meters.
  3. The density of PTFE is pre-filled as 2150 kg/m³, but you can change it if needed.
  4. Click the "Calculate" button to compute the weight of the rod.
  5. The result will be displayed in kilograms.

Working Principle

The weight of a PTFE rod is calculated using the formula:

Weight (kg) = π × (d²/4) × L × ρ

Where:

  • π (Pi) is a mathematical constant approximately equal to 3.14159.
  • d is the diameter of the rod in meters.
  • L is the length of the rod in meters.
  • ρ (rho) is the density of PTFE, which is approximately 2150 kg/m³ for standard PTFE.

Example Calculation

For a PTFE rod with a length of 1 meter and a diameter of 0.05 meters (5 cm):

Weight = π × (0.05²/4) × 1 × 2150

Weight = 3.14159 × (0.0025/4) × 2150

Weight = 3.14159 × 0.000625 × 2150

Weight ≈ 4.28 kg
